PHILLY WINS TO FORCE A GAME 7!!!

The Philadelphia Flyers down 4-3 with under 1:50 left in regulation looked to Keith Primeau for some intervention. He kicked the puck across the crease then got it himself and put it in to tie up the game. Philly wins the game in OT on a Simon GAGNE GOAL!!

A coach makes the jump from NCAA to the NBA!!

Mike Montgomery of Stanford University will be named the head coach of the Golden State Warriors on Thursday. I believe that this is horrible for a coach leave a program when compared to players leaving programs. The student-athletes have committed to Stanford for 4 years of having Mike Montgomery coaching them not one of the assistant who would come in and take over.

The media has to learn that Coaches are just like players...They go where the money is.

WE HAVE AN UPSET!!!

Roy Jones Jr. was knocked out in the second round of his fight on Saturday night by Antonio Tarver. Tarver started talking shit before the fight during the pre-fight introductions and backed it up by landing a huge left in the second round knocking Roy Jones Jr. to the canvas. Thanks to THE HOOD of the Sportsfrog for some of the information.

DOWN GOES JONES!!! DOWN GOES JONES!!!

Is Arsenal the greatest team in Sports History??

This team went 38 games without losing a match in the English Premier League. There has not been a team to have an unbeaten streak like this ever in modern sports history.

Is this team the greatest ever in team sports history??

Expos New Home

ESPN.Com is reporting that the Montreal Expos will be moving to Portland Oregon or Washington DC. I believe that the team should move to Portland based on the fact that Portland has only 1 professional team right now in the city. Washington has had a pro baseball team in the past and they play in Texas right now!!!!

What do you think??

Title IX

The problem with Title IX is that there are three prongs to test with complaince. Equality of Athletic Funding, History of adding programs both men and female not cuttign programs, and the interest and abilities of the athletes.

Most schools can not use the History argument or the interest in abilities so they are stuck with using the Equality of Athletic Funding aka Scholarships. The problem with looking at scholarships is that if the university has a football program at the Division I-A or Division I-AA level they are giving out 85 scholarships in D-1A and 65 in D-1AA. The schools have to then make up for those 85 or 65 scholarships by adding in women sports to get an equal number of scholarships. Men sports like wrestling and men's gymnastics have been the victims of getting cut for years.

So what is happening is that schools can't afford to add a women's program without dropping a male sport?? Is this making sports better?? I do not think so.

I propose that the NCAA takes football (IT IS A COED SPORT) out of the equation so that their can be a better proportanlity number and thus let schools have equal amount of programs for men and women.
